The Allauch Museum allows visitors to discover religious heritage through exhibits based on symbols and sacred items. The museum presents the origins of Western Christian culture, iconography, and common Christian symbols, the use of objects of worship and devotion, and the sacred arts. The museum's collections of religious art illustrate the universality of the notion of the sacred by unveiling their unsung beauty and hidden meaning. The Allauch Museum also retraces the history of the Allaudian territory over a period of 10000 years, from when it was first settled to the current day. This space comprised of hills bordering the sea makes up the Marseilles area's outback. A selection of archeological elements, historical souvenirs and ethnographic objects illustrate the multiple facets of Alludian identity. Allauch's landscapes are also handsomely represented, in the form of paintings by Provensal painters from the 19th century on.
