The Var is one of the few French departments to be equipped with a Natural History Museum dedicated to knowledge and development of its natural heritage. Located in the heart of the Las Garden (west Toulon), ranked Sensitive Natural Area, the Museum is owned by the Departement.
Conceived as a promenade in the heart of the department, visit the Museum unveils all our natural resources through the various disciplines that make up the Earth Sciences and Life: geology, paleontology, prehistory, botany and zoology.
Walking through the halls of the Museum, we can see that the Var, the result of a very eventful geological adventure, offering a first-class interest in the diversity of its landscape, its flora and fauna. It offers, through its permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions regularly renewed vision ecocitizen of biodiversity.
The Museum has over 75,000 artifacts and specimens in its reserves (unfinished inventory) or displayed in its windows.

Lors d’expositions temporaires, un animateur accueille les publics scolaires afin de leur faire une visite commentée de l’exposition en cours.

Visite libre de l'expo permanente (370 m²) et de l'expo temporaire (120 m²).

Visites guidées pour groupes constitués
